Christian the Lion

If you haven't heard of Christian the lion, let me tell you a little bit about it. This is a true story.

In 1969, John and Ace saw a lion cub for sale in Harrods and they decided to bring it home (yes, they could purchase a lion as a pet back then!). They named the cub Christian. Christian became a good companion and the bond between him and his owners was extraordinary.

Christian then became so big. John and Ace had no other choice but to send him to the wild in Africa. A year later, they wanted to visit Christian again but they were told that Christian who used to be their friend had turned to a wild beast. John and Ace refused to believe. They went anyway.

After a year, they were reunited. When Christian first met his friends, he hesitated. He walked slowly towards them, took his time, but when he finally recognized John and Ace, he jumped over them, hugged them, and kissed them.

I cried when I first watched the video. It's a unique love between a beast and human indeed. Christian was like a big cat with a dog qualities.
